Last night was the O2 Academy 2 in Newcastle, which is the wee diddy room upstairs at the O2 Academy. The sign above the door curiously read "BROKEN RECORDS THEN REVOLUTION AND MAYHEM", which actually referred to the club night which was on afterwards. Got everything up to the third floor via four trips in the wee lift, then sandwiches and coffee.
It's already been a busy old week with a six-song live session on the Billy Sloan show on Clyde One on the Sunday (particularly enjoyable for me as I remember listening to the likes of Tiger Tim on Radio Clyde as a younger fellow, which is something these East-Coasters have never had the pleasure of - uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh baaaa-byyyeee! etc.), and a session for Vic Galloway on Radio Scotland on the Monday which coincided with the release of "wir album". I have been unable to find a method to listen back to Billy's show but the Beeb have put up a video of one of the tracks from Monday for your perusal here:

rough-trade-east.jpgThis coming Sunday, Broken Records will be playing an in-store gig for at Rough Trade East in London town.  This full band show will be happening at 6 p.m.  Wristbands for the show are availalable from the store 1 hour prior to the gig.

Details for the shop can be found on their website

The time has finally come to let the fruits of our work so far be released into the wild.  This week our debut album 'Until The Earth Begins To Part is officially released on 4AD.

It's something we're proud to have had the chance to do, and owe a big thanks to many people for making this happed.

The album is available on CD and 12" versions from most good record shops, with downloads from iTunes with an exclusive bonus track.  The tracklisting is as follows:

Nearly Home
If The News Makes You Sad, Don't Watch It
Until The Earth Begins To Part
A Promise
Thoughts On A Picture (In A Paper, January 2009)
If Eilert Løvborg Wrote A Song, It Would Sound Like This
Wolves
Ghosts
A Good Reason
Slow Parade
------------------------
Guilty Conscience/Restless Mind  *iTunes bonus track *
Just a quick note to say we'll shortly be playing live in session on Vic Galloway's Radio Scotland show

Alongside a couple of familiar songs, we have been asked to re-work another artist's song, which could be interesting in any number of ways.

You can listen to the show between 8-10pm on 92-95 FM on the radio or via the Radio Scotland website
